The Story

Miami's most fearless anchor.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Miami, The Assistant follows Helena Miller, a brilliant, ambitious, and fiercely independent television news anchor at Channel 7, whose relentless pursuit of the truth often puts her at odds with colleagues, powerful figures, and even her own boss.

A new assistant. A steep learning curve.

When Parker Hayes, a young and inexperienced assistant, enters her demanding world, he quickly discovers that working for Helena involves far more than managing her daily schedule. Their clashing personalities, unexpected challenges, and growing professional trust form the heart of a story that explores ambition, loyalty, friendship, and the high-pressure world of broadcast journalism.

A corruption story turns dangerous.

When Helena begins investigating suspicious sanitation contracts connected to Miami's mayor, what initially appears to be a story about political corruption develops into something far more dangerous. As she uncovers evidence of shell companies, missing city vehicles, and a sophisticated criminal operation, Helena finds herself facing threats, betrayal, and mounting pressure to abandon the investigation.

The truth has a price.

With Parker becoming an increasingly important ally, the two must navigate a web of political influence, deception, and hidden agendas while confronting their own differences. Blending newsroom drama, mystery, suspense, and moments of humor, The Assistant explores the personal and professional cost of pursuing the truth in a city where appearances can be deceiving and powerful people have everything to lose.
